Marian Rivera in Eat Bulaga
Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes guested in Eat Bulaga's Dabarkads Showdown.
Everybody cheered loudly when the 'true' Marimar couple showed up and danced flawlessly. The two looked like real life sweethearts. Watch how Dingdong caressed Marian Rivera's hair. Ain't that sweet? Is Karylle (Dingdong's girlfriend) not jealous of this gesture?

Marian Rivera , the current soap queen
SOAP QUEEN – Who’s the current soap queen?
Marian Rivera, no doubt. "Marimar," airing on GMA, is the No.1 show on Philippine television, at times hitting the 40 (and above) mark. "Marimar" may well be considered pre-sold as it is the Pilipino adaptation of the hugely popular telenovela with the same title. It made Thalia a household word.
Marian isn’t really that exceptional an actress, but in fairness, she’s getting better and better with each episode. But the real acting test will come when she transforms from the naïve Marimar to the sophisticated Bella Aldama. (See, this columnist is an avid viewer).
How about Dingdong Dantes, who plays Sergio, Marimar’s husband? Well, he’s improving. Keep it up!
It’ll be recalled that "Marimar," aired on RPN 10 or so years ago, started the "Mexican fever" on local TV. The first to air was "La Traidora," but it didn’t rate.
GMA bought the rights of "Marimar" for Angel Locsin, but she opted to switch to ABS-CBN, where she’s currently taping "La Loba Blanca" (The White Wolf) opposite Piolo Pascual. Nagsisisi ba si Angel?

Marimar Remains On Top
Many were expecting that Angel's appearance in Kris's game show would pit her directly against Marian Rivera's Marimar on GMA-7. But since Lupin ended last Friday, its original timeslot was taken over by Marimar, which is now pitted against Judy Ann Santos's Ysabella. The role of Marimar was first offered to Angel, but the former Kapuso star declined.
Deal or No Deal's may be ABS-CBN's highest rater Monday night, but it still fell short of toppling the consistent top-rater Marimar, which posted a rating of 33.1 percent. Marimar even posted a higher rating last Friday, August 17, with a remarkable 38.1 percent.

Marian Rivera, GMA-7's next fair-haired talent?
Taken from: http://news.balita.ph/html/article.php/20070815113816778
Things appear to have been settled between the two biggest rival networks with the final acceptance that Angel Locsin is now with the Kapamilya of ABS-CBN.
And Marian Rivera's pilot episode of the Marimar remake last Monday rated highly with more than 36.6 per cent was good enough to salve the ruffled feelings of Kapuso network executives who felt that Angel is an ingrate.
Remember, Marian hasn't yet made her presence felt. It's the dog, Fulgoso, who has hogged the limelight and some other sidelight attraction that glued thousands of eyes on the boob tube.
With her initial telenovela success, Marian looks like she will takeover from where Locsin left--with much, much better result since she is definitely younger, prettier and more talented.
The beautiful and fresh-looking Marian says she won't go the way of Angel because she is enjoying the undivided attention and unqualified support of GMA-7 at present.
She says she is grateful because she has been given the chance to make her world better with the backing of a big entertainment channel until such time when she is able to stand on her own feet.
That's a promise for now, but will it stand the test of of time? Will her career manager beware of the mistakes that Becky Aguila committed while handling Angel?
With a well-oiled publicity machine working day-in, day-out to put up Marian up the totem pole, there's no doubt she will make it, unless she becomes foolish and allows fame and fortune destroy her at an early stage.
The public's acceptance of Marian as the new fair-haired girl of GMA-7 is phenomenal. Marimar's rating climbed up to 38 per cent the next evening which her studio wants to sustain until the series ends by January 2008.
Directed by award-winning Joyce Bernal, there's expectation that someway, somewhere along the way, some characters, some dialogues, some unexpected additional scenes will crop up to enable the Filipino telenovela version keep a good grip on the audience's attention the way the loved Lupin, Asian Treasure and Darna.(PNA)

Marian Rivera vs Thalia
Marian Rivera and Thalia dancing to the tune of... Marimar! Aw!!
Marian Rivera was very seductive in her audition. No wonder why, she was chosen to play as Marimar.
Marian Rivera: Pictorials of Marimar
Is Marian Rivera the next big star of GMA 7? I believe so. I really like her beauty and her great body. She's very appropriate for the Marimar role played by the Meximan goddess Thalia.
